WHO WE ARE
Conflict, crime, disagreement, and division. As social beings, we understand that these are inevitable parts of life. Neighborhood Reconciliation Services, Inc. (NRS) believes that, now more than ever, how we respond to these realities has a profound influence on the quality of life and well-being of our communities, schools, neighborhoods, etc. We believe communities are safer, more just, and more equitable when we work together to repair the harm caused by conflict and create space for all voices to be heard. NRS has served the Appalachian Highlands region in East Tennessee since 2002 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes constructive, just, and non-adversarial approaches to conflict.
NRS uses a restorative framework and restorative practices to:
1) Proactively build social capital through Community Listening Circles.
2) Provide restorative justice conferencing for minor offenses and truancy.
3) Offer training & education in restorative practices.
4) Offer trained facilitators to repair harm caused by conflict.
We serve the Appalachian Highlands region of East Tennessee, but are able to provide services outside this area.
